In progress. You can see my easel on the left and my painting buddy Susan Conrad on the right. I came to the spot in the late morning to get the drawing part fleshed out because I knew that it would be complicated and the fleeting light I wanted to capture would not be in front of me long. I drew it out in willow charcol on a white canvas. I took out all the extraneous junk and left the stuff that would make it look like you had just pulled in your streamline to the campground and, whoo hoo, the fun is about to begin!

In Progress. Here is the painting and scene later in the day. I attempted to anticipate what the sky reflection on the Streamline would be and made a misstep, so that part had to be repainted. But, no worry, I love how the painting turned out. Sometimes just being in a scene for longer than the average plein air painting is more rewarding.
