2020 was a challenging year for all of us for a lot of reasons. I was honestly at a loss as to what to paint. Pretty pictures didn't seem appropriate. I decided to do a series of paintings to encapsulate my experience of it. Some I'll share, some I won't. During the pandemic, I decided to use license free crowd sourced images as source material and put them together in photoshop to make the images that were in my mind. Then I would use those to interpret them in paint. So it is an involved intentional process. Normally I would make all the source material myself, but I had to make an exception for this. It feels more community based, which I think we all need right now.
